This was okay, but I did start to get a feeling of seen it all before - either in larger terms, in other similar books, and as I went through the book, the sex scenes especially started to get sort of samey. Okay, that's a danger with any sex scenes - there's only so many different ways to do it! - but some of them I felt as if they could be swapped around with ones earlier or later in the book and I wouldn't know any difference. So they sort of lacked a character development aspect.
There's some promise of conflict, in that one of the guys is supposedly straight and must deal with finding he's now mated for life to a man. But he comes to terms with it pretty quick and with little internal conflict. The blurb makes a big deal of potential conflict with that character's mother, but she doesn't actually appear all that much. When she does she's pretty cliched and eventually comes around to accept the situation, for no obvious reason.
Not as good as the other Langley books I've read.

Yeah, this book is shit. Quit reading it to read a book series meant for children.
Loved the plot and the characters.
Keaton was a little bratty and had temper tantrums like a 5-year old, but it was easy to look past because he was adorable.
Clayton was stubborn and domineering. But soooo sweet towards his little Bit.
Pita was the sweetest dog. Joe was cool. Lisa was a bitch and I don't think she really came around. I'd didn't feel genuine. Even Remi's apology felt more sincere. And he turned out to be rather ok in the end. Can't wait to read his story.
The conclusion was a bit rushed and had a bit of holes. Nothing too distracting and it worked out well any way.
All in all a great book.

The best plot ever. Great characters and even some things were left open at the end, just not in a bad way! It had a good surprise ending too.
I finished this really fast because I have in it e-book format and it was so good, the virtual pages on my ipod just kept turning. Very relaxing and satisfying read overall.

Chayton Winston has been dreaming of a mate since he was five years old. And despite being part of an American Indian werewolf pack, in his dreams his mate always has blond hair and blue eyes. But his parents always told him he would find his mate in good time, so he forced himself to stop obsessing about it and just let it happen. So when an injured wolf is brought into his veterinary office and he experiences some strange feelings, he's surprised. Of course, he's also surprised because if those feelings mean his mate is near, it means his mate is male. He knows that won't go over well with his mother, but he first needs to figure out how it goes over for himself.
Keaton Reynolds is a powerful wolf who wants nothing more than to leave any fighting in his past. He took a job as a professor in New Mexico, far from his family, to have a new start. So when we wakes up in a strange man's vehicle after going for a run, he's not sure what to think. And his thoughts are further clouded when he realizes this strange man is his mate. Not one to force himself on someone, he's more than willing to walk away from Chay--especially since the man is straight. But the pull of a mate is strong. And Keaton may be in the crosshairs of someone far more dangerous than a mate...
I feel like shifter romances with the whole "unexpected mate" trope aren't difficult to find. There seem to be several on the market. But the supporting cast and the world in which this takes place are different enough to make this unique. I do wish we got a chance to get to know the main characters a bit better. Once they're thrown together, it's all about how they interact and there isn't much of them alone or with friends or family that might help provide a bit more insight into who they are. And Chay's decision seems a bit fast for someone who was not expecting a mate like the one he got.
It's still definitely worth a read, so I give it a recommendation.

Loved the characters! Honestly didn’t blame Keaton at all with his hesitation in the beginning cause I would react the same. Definitely a re-read for me.
An enjoyable escapist gay werewolf romance. Had a very slash-fiction vibe to it.
Chayton "Chay" Winston is a shapeshifter veterinarian who was brought in a wolf that was shot by a "poacher". Imagine Chay's shock when his body reacted to the wolf, claiming the blond hair, blue eyed male wolf as his mate. See Chay is Apache/Navajo mix and he is straight, so fate was definite pulling a fast on him.
When his mate gets patched up, Chay learned that his mate is Keaton Reynold and he is a Ph.D professor. The rest of the story details their adjust to their new reality.
I actually liked this one better than the other series by the same author. This one was just as sweet, but flowed better for me. Chay and Keaton were such good guys in their own right and I like Chay accepted his fate and rolled with it. I suspected the mystery but I still liked how it played out. My only complaint is that there is too much sex in the book.
