it was okay i suppose. many of the poems were quite forgettable and felt more like little thoughts than meaningful poetry. there were many poems that were about women loving men and i went into this thinking it was supposed to just be women.

I’m kind of disappointed in this because of all of the religious mentions and references through the books. It made me feel as if females were made for one male exclusively and should wait for them and not sleep with other guys... maybe I’m wrong and I’m just seeing things but that’s the feeling i got from it and it made me kind of uncomfortable...

It's my first poetry book, but I loved it. Maybe because the theme of all the poems hit me so hard right now, but to me that's what poetry is about. It is suppose to make you feel things, to make you understand what the poem is about, even if the author was thinking something completely different from you, a poem can still mean something to you personally.

This hit home, and I love most of the poems, some better that others of course, and even some not so much. But as a whole, I loved it.

This seemed like it was written by a lovesick, clingy teenager.

If I write this way --
even if it is
mansplaining
about how to be
a woman
and could've been
written as a
short sentence,
is it still poetry?

Heck, that right there is more sense and rhythm than what I read.

In a generation of people who want to be
heartless, savages and empty of feelings,
it’ll be hard to find someone who is what
you need, but do not become like the
world.
Be loyal, be truthful, be emotional, be full
of feelings, be hungry for love, be thirsty
for affection and anything else human
beings ought to desire.
Let them be foolish and cold.
Don’t dim your light to become as dark as
they are
