I have no proof, but strongly suspect, that Ms. Beaton began working with the person that she selected as heir to her series. This story was actually coherent with a solid plot line; it wasn’t just a jumble of vitriol and insults.

Agatha and her right-hand woman, Toni, are hired to investigate possible industrial espionage and, of course, the inevitable murder. But is the donkey really to blame?

The 30th in the series and the last one to contain some of Marion Chesney’s, aka M. C. Beaton’s, flair before the others being fully written by ‘the heir’. This was a good return to the fun of the earlier stories.

Wow, this was a really wonderful book. I really loved it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have read all of the Agatha Raisin books and enjoyed them, so I was absolutely delighted to get a free copy of this new book, Beating About the Bush, from Netgalley. Thank you so much!

The book was amazing. I found it to be the funniest book I have ever read and I was laughing so much all the way through. I really enjoyed the story, the characters and the writing. It was interesting to see how Agatha's love life developed, which was different from what I thought it would be, but still enjoyable. It was the best Agatha Raisin book I have read and I had a fun 2 days reading it. I felt like I was on a holiday with old friends, having an adventure.

Thanks again to Netgalley, M C Beaton and her publisher for this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is another novel starring Agatha Raisin, self absorbed, egotistical, vain, loyal to her friends, always on the prowl for a new romance. She's irritating but lovable. It's a fun read!
