Love an Agatha Raisin for escape. Although the best part for me is the narration of Penelope Keith. She is my quintessential Agatha.
Ormai Agatha Raisin è una vecchia amica noiosa che si ascolta ogni tanto perché in fondo ci si è affezionati, leggo le sue avventure ritrovando sempre lo stesso personaggio, però è gradevole, un'evasione di un paio d'ore.
And, that’s it. Read them all. Left hanging at the end. Still, I enjoyed the fun of the series. Thank you, Ms. Beaton. Rest In Peace.
Glad to have Penelope Keith back as narrator for the series.
Looks like this is the final Agatha that Ms. Chesney wrote on her own. I understand that the next one was completed just a couple of weeks before her death, with finishing edits added by her publisher's husband and her friend Rod Green (who, in subsequent novels and with her blessing, will be carrying on the series).
Glad I didn't realize that as I was reading it - I might have had loftier expectations or some kind of Wrapping Up.
It was another romp, with a farting donkey, villainous foils, wry asides about political correctness, and of course the many twists and turns regarding the fortunes of her various Carsley friends. The latter is, come to think of it, what I am probably most hooked on at this point.
So thank you, Ms. Chesney. Onward to the next one, written by your trusted friend in your name. We shall see...

It's a pity to see M.C.Beaton decend in to the silly humor genre. Her books always had humor in them, but bringing in the donkey to make thing funny didn't work. Also Agatha came out as a rude and illogical person. The whole combination was wrong.
Another fun read about the grumpy, clumsy Agatha Raisin.
I really enjoyed this story although I hate the phrase "Snakes and Bastards!" that has come into the stories. That apart, a great read. These books always cheer me up.

Acceptable. I am not really sure why I continue with the series, given how utterly annoying Agatha is. It's amazing she has any friends. This is par for the course, with a two miraculous rescues for the price of one, and the usual bumbling police inspector. I liked the donkey.
