The main reason I loved this was because I was crying the whole time

I'm confused.

“spoiler alert”

She went back to him! The dude was rude and mean even before marriage and she married him regardless? What is wrong with her! She keeps falling for his meaningless words and tricks. Also, Moses didn’t deserve to be treated like that; she shouldn’t have been with him while she still thinks about that jerk.

and him? He didn’t even grovel. He was just mad and petty about her being with someone else. He had no respect for her or what she loved from their first meeting! He blackmailed her to do stuff she didn't want and literally stalked her! This man is a walking red flag.

There was absolutely no romance or chemistry between them from the beginning. She is an idiot, and he is a jerk. And they knew all these people, and none of them told them to go to therapy? They BOTH need it.

God, I'm so mad.

Well this book was very interesting. Am still digesting, but currently rate 3 1/2 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2! It was pretty train-wrecky, but it somehow mostly worked!

Jenzy, our h, annoyed the absolute heck out of me. She’s a “hippie”, but not really. She’s impulsive, has an irrational phobia of bugs, loves new-age stuff, is messy and flighty. She immediately jumps into a relationship with OM, which is so problematic I can’t even begin to wrap my head around. How can you wait on your husband for 2 whole years and just start seeing someone else while your husband is trying to get you back?

The groveling that Chris does when he finally realizes the error of his ways is excellent. He really was a horrible ass! Jenzy wasn’t perfect either, however. Her flakiness would’ve sent me running for the hills. Chris’s actions are OTT callous though, especially the banquet. He held onto a lot of misplaced resentment toward Jenzy.

Should these two have stayed married? Yes I believe they were worth saving, so I’m glad the book ended the way it did. There were times I wanted to strangle them both! Jenzy eventually drops the OM like he’s nothing and never sleeps with him, so he obviously wasn’t the man for her. I feel like he was slimy going after a married woman anyway! Despite the problematic parts, this book was really entertaining and I couldn’t put it down.

I read this entire book in 24 hours after my dear author friend, Nikki, sent me an ARC. It was Splendid, heartfelt, emotional, empowering, and so much more!

Rarely do I read books that give me everything to the point where I rate them 5 Stars, but THIS ONE gets all 5 Stars. The key for me with a 5 star are a number of things: a story that makes me not sure what's going to happen and needed to see if I'm right, a story that's REAL and compelling, REAL characters, being able to connect or identify with at least one or more characters, characters who kept their identity - never acting out of character unless there's internal change, growth for at least one of the characters, a story that has a MESSAGE/LESSON to be learned, and THIS BOOK had them all.

On top of that, Nikki has TREMENDOUSLY improved with her writing ability and story telling. I've enjoyed several of her other works, but this story has lifted her to a whole other level as an author. The best part, is I got to help with certain aspects of the story that I know will make future readers enjoy this even more once it's ready to be released to the general public.

Congratulations my dear friend for such an AMAZING story. It's an honor to have read this beautiful work of art, but an even bigger honor to call you a friend. Cheers to your everlasting success as a writer. You've set a very high bar for yourself now (no pressure - maybe a little - ha ha).

DNF @ 17%

I was invested initially but now I’m just bored. I don’t think this will be nearly as fun angsty as I want it to be
