Kelsey Clayton blew this second chance, secret romance out of the water! Hendrix is sweet and loving and everything we knew he could be. It was the perfect surprise release.
I think it's safe to say that we all fell in love with Colby Hendrix in Clayton's past books and we were holding our breaths that Colby would get his own happy ending. As far fetched as a HEA seemed in Colby's mind, and he constantly touted that he wasn't a relationship man, in this book we find out the specific reasons for those adamant claims. We also discover a huge secret that was kept from him that changes his life forever.
This is a slow burn romance, but honestly I didn't even notice while I was reading. The story drew me in and the relationships developing between everyone kept me so engrossed I wasn't even focused on the slow boiling chemistry between Colby and Saige. I love that these two beautiful souls found their way back to one another and the story is perfect.

Idk something about this story didnt let me truly connect with it. Like the fact that he just so happened to want more with his bestfriend but shes “better off” with someone else. Or that his mom kinda just popped in and out like what was the point of her at all. Then saige seemed like such a kick ass from the jump but became so meek with topher towards the end. She was a badass who needed saving at the end and wasnt really thinking about her kid. It just seemed okayish i guess dv does things to the psyche but the man showed up enough to beat her and then she was with colby idk i finished it but also it was just ehhh for me

This is my first book by this author and I honestly bought it on a whim from Amazon for like $10. It was short and sweet and good, just not as good as some of the other books I’ve read this year. And, there was one thing that made me mad, early in the book the author mentions the MCM’s father getting sicker, but the author never mentioned him or his condition ever again😅

*Toca un tema tan sensible como el abuso de sustancias, el maltrato intrafamiliar y a la mujer y lo hace de la peor manera posible y la forma en que "soluciona" es simplemente deplorable, me leí la segunda mitad del libro esperando que se mencionara algo sobre las secuelas psicológicas o algo pero mágicamente Saige superó todo. Y creo que ese es el mayor problema en esta parte es que nunca menciona o se ve creíble todo el tema psicológico detrás del abuso, y sin está parte se veía tan estupido que no dejará a Thoper, el cuál merecía ir a la cárcel o terminar muerto.
**Saige siquiera trabajaba?
