Super cute!

I had always wondered why Colby was anti-commitment and now I know why!

The sexual tension was through the roof as soon as they set eyes on each other again, in fact, I'm surprised my Kindle didn't spontaneously catch fire from their heated glares.

Brenna was super adorable and I loved the relationship Colby built with her. He was a safe place for her, even when things were not set in concrete. I adored how they were together.

While Saige struggled with their past and how everything went down, Colby was working to show her he meant business. Need an alpha protector? He was there. Need a "babysitter"? Sign him up.

Honestly, Colby was surprisingly grounded and well-behaved once he set his sights on his future and what he wanted.

Sure, Colby and Saige had their difficulties and struggles but it all worked out perfectly in the end.

This was the longest 175 pages I’ve ever read. Typically I give 1 stars for books I dropped but I was determined to finish this book because it was “only” 175 padres pages.

I didn't hate this book, I rather enjoyed it. I read it in one sitting. Was Seige my favorite female character ever, no. But as someone who has lived through DV, I think we are seeing a dulled version of who she was or is and it takes a while to get that shine back. I do wish there had been an author's note that could have prepared me for that. As if it had been a bad day for me a few scenes could have been major triggers for me and I know the same can be said for others. Cobey was my favorite character, the way the author was able to convey how eager he was to be a good dad made my heart happy. I do wish there had been more of a meeting when she meets his family as we were introduced to his mother very early on in the story but she melts into the background. While some things were definitely predictable I thought it all came together nicely.

Colby has been a fan favorite of the readers since we first met him in Tessa and Asher's book, The Rebel. His love, fierce loyalty, and witt made all readers fall in love with him. We held our breath when he made an appearance in Lennon's book, The Enemy, in a does he or doesn't he have more than friend feelings for Lennon. We can tell he was a favorite of Clayton with how quickly this book followed up Lennon's book with this surprise release.

Colby has had a love them and leave them approach from the first time we meet him. This book explains how he came to live this philosophy. Colby was made for love with how fierce he loves others, and receives love in return. He has so much to give, and in order for him to find the one worthy she must be exceptional. We get flashbacks in this book that takes us to the first time he meets his Saige, and what lead them to their eventual break up.

This book is full of laughs, heartache, and love. Clayton always leaves a part of her soul behind in every book she writes. This book possibly left a bigger piece behind with how many emotions and feelings this book evokes!!! If you read nothing else this week/month/year THIS is the book to read!!

This was such a beautiful second chance standalone!
I definitely have to dive into the others in the world now but was able to fully understand everything without issue.
Colby and Saige are the type to make you believe in true love and I adored Brenna!

Cute book. actually pretty good… but where was the SPICE!?!??

I liked the premise of the whole book. For me though it was just how fast the pacing was. It felt like I went through 8 weeks in a page. Saige had some issues with her fiance and had her believing certain things about herself. But we never actually saw it go down or had her thoughts about it until way later. The angst and some of the plot just fell threw.
