Having read, er, listened to this again, this isn’t quite the “ending” to The Circle series that I remember. Although the writing was good (it’s Dekker), the story feels rushed and contrived. It’s almost as if the publisher wanted to add something that Dekker never intended. Or, if Dekker really wanted to use Green to better tie into the Paradise novels, he was forced to take a different direction. At any rate, the first three (Black, Red, White) are still one of my favorite series and I’ll revisit this along with the others again.

It was quite a bit darker than the first two books.

Read it in Dutch.
Was erg moeilijk om in te komen. Vanaf een bepaald punt werd het wel erg interessant.
Dat het een cirkel van boeken is, is een leuk detail. Door het einde van dit boek wil ik wel echt het volgende boek lezen

Not comparable to the other books in the Circle series. This messed the whole series up.

Blech. Not worth it. I read the original series about ten years ago and loved it. Reread them again this year and I am a different person than I was 10 years ago but they are still good books. But that being said. I hated this book. This book made references to other books in a spinoff series that I didn't know I should read before reading this one. If those books were important to the story they should have included them in the collection I was reading. It really felt like he was changing things already established in the other books and just trying to make everything fit in a perfect series. I just really did not like this book. Just stop reading after White. It gives the series a better ending.
