Wow, I liked this one way less on a reread.
The whole group of characters is fine, and the plot is interesting, but the military part just annoyed me. The 'in the dreamcatcher'-bits and the stuff with Mr Grey were so much more interesting than the whole nuts military leader bit. I enjoyed the 'what makes a human human'-question quite a bit. Shame the military plotline drags this book down for me as much as it does.

King was on hardcore drugs when he wrote this and it shows but still quite a good book. It felt a little too drawn out for me but that may have been because of the confusing plot.
It all kinda makes sense by the end but a more thorough explanation of phenomena that occurred could’ve tied the book together better.

Sorry folks this is a DNF. Can't remember the last time I did that to a Stephen King, maybe The Tommyknockers. Might revisit it another time but for now, it's a no.
