3.5. Awful ending...bad love story, but some really good parts throughout. It didn't seem fully formulated.

First of all I was disappointed that the book was not as beautifully decorated as the first 2 books.

The true purpose of the Oracles and main plot points were not connected very well as there was nothing in the first 2 books to even give the reader an inklings of what was to happen.

I'm curious to see if this will wrap up the series or will Beddor give us more.

Neighboring country of Boarderland is planning an invasion, and never has Wonderland been so vulnerable. With all it's people and Queen still recovering from their lack of imagination, Alyss and her group race to find an advantage against King Arch's cunning and force. But events are taken out of control when the ancient oracles themselves intervene with shady motives-- who's side are they on?

You know a trilogy is successful when it reaches the last book and you feel the characters' desperation to triumph. I felt it in this book, and I really wanted the good guys to win. The good news is that I've gotten used to Beddor's style, and I was appreciate the story as it is. It presented different point of views, and even then, I couldn't predict precisely what was going to happen in the end. This is a great trilogy for young readers, with an awesomely reconstructed Wonderland, and with each book, it gets better.

To be perfectly honest - I wish I had read this back when it first came out. I read the first two books in the series years ago and LOVED THEM. But never got around to reading the third book. On re-read of the first and second book, I found myself not as thrilled with them. Quick, interesting, but also bordering on dull and obvious.

The third book was OK and a fine ending but not thrilling. I'm just glad to be done with it, honestly. Worth reading, yes, but don't expect much.

"The battle for Wonderland has come to a head and the Heart Crystal's power has been depleted thanks to King Arch's devastating weapon, WILMA. Imagination has been wiped from the land and the people of Wonderland have lost their greatest asset. Most alarmingly, even Queen Alyss is without her powers as her Queendom hangs in the balance." (From Amazon)

A great conclusion to a really good series. It is well written and keeps you flipping to the next page. Fabulous characters from Hatter Madigan to Redd Hart to Blister
