I love this author and this book very much. I thought it was very well written and had a great plot! Beautiful masterpiece

I read the 3 books in this series in a week and a half! I flew through them! Slow burn, hidden powers, fated mates. I Loved the story, it kept me wanting more, there was unanswered questions at the end of each book. The 4th book comes out march 2024

*I received an ARC via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thanks for the free book!*

There were a lot of things that I liked about this book:
- changing the gender of people from the Arthurian legends
- making the story queer/feminist to a certain extent

But sadly the majority of the book did not appeal to me:
- the world building was thrown in and nothing really made sense
- the pacing was off, the beginning was super slow, the ending especially was terribly rushed
- the main character was a super annoying Mary Sue and none of her story was surprising
- the 'romance' had no appeal at all
- the plot is pretty predictable and that was especially annoying

I will not read a sequel, I really struggled skim reading this one... Sorry.
adventurous challenging dark emotional mysterious sad tense

I just finished my round 4 book for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Book Club, Queen of Roses! This one was so good. The treachery, the backstabbing, the shocking revelations, and the simmering romantic tension had me thinking about this one long after I put it down. 📖

One of my favorite parts of the book was FMC, Morgan Pendragon. She’s a princess, but I loved that she wasn’t pampered or spoiled. Morgan has had an incredibly tough life, but managed to become a kind person with an amazing found family surrounding her. Almost all of her actions were guided by her need to love and protect, despite the fact that she experienced very little love and protection from her own biological family. 🫶

Now, let’s talk quests. I love a good quest, so I was thrilled to see Morgan and her companions embark on an epic one. As a reader, I enjoyed breaking free from the confines of the castle in Camelot and exploring a few of the neighboring kingdoms in Eskira. It was in this journey that the story really picked up for me. Especially once we met a mysterious, but hot, musician. 👀

By the time I got to the last 50 pages of the book, I could not put it down! I’m being 100% serious when I say that my jaw literally dropped during at least one plot twist that I didn’t see coming. By the time I read the last word on the last page, I was already tapping “purchase” on book two. I NEED to know what happens next.

In the pages, you will find:

🔥Slowburn romance
🏕️One tent
🔐Forced proximity
😡”Who did this to you?”
🤝Found family
⚔️Enemies to lovers
💪A strong FMC
📚The first book in a completed series!

Its writing felt juvenile. The main character was not relatable.

Such a good intriguing start to a series I couldn't put it down. Slow burn romance. I immediately bought book 2. CW throughout the series though.
