I liked the plot a lot, but I think the writing was messy. There were a few scenes that I feel like happened twice in a row or points that were made in the first that were made again in the second as if it was a new discovery.

I didn't hate this book, but I also didn't love it. The cast of characters attempts to be diverse but isn't actually. There are still a lot of pointless inner monologues, and once again, the author relies on her overuse of the kidnapping trope.
