I really really loved this book. The premise is hilarious, I ended up telling pretty much everyone I met up with to read this absolute chaotic mess of a book. Finlay is such a relatable main character, she's so messy and unhinged and weirdly okay with murder, definitely in need of some therapy. Vero was also absolutely amazing, an icon, and such a supportive friend. I definitely got a Thelma and Louise vibe off of their relationship.
But oh. my. god. I hate Steven so much. He is such a fucking jerk, I low key would not mind if he died.
The love triangle is also pretty interesting, but I would love it if it ended in a lovely poly relationship between Julian, Nick and Finlay, maybe even Vero too.

I wasn’t sure if I should rate this 4.5 or 5 stars, but I honestly enjoyed this so much that I talked my own mothers ear off about it. So, definitely a 5 star read!

Finlay was so funny and 100% relatable as a hot-mess mom. My sister has three kids under 3 and I honestly was so amused by Finlay that I could exactly imagine her chaos because of my own sister. Clearly the events were fetched, but still so believable I thoroughly enjoyed the way this went.

It was lighthearted and amusing, and the mystery was definitely grabbing. At no part of this whole series of events did I fall into boredom. It kept me captivated the entire time. Not to mention, the absolute embarrassment I felt as Finlay was too funny.

I was so happy I read this over Mother’s Day weekend, and it was so good I took my mum to the bookstore to get the second.

This book was not worth the three months waiting on the hold list at the library. It's like 100% upper middle class white woman wish fulfillment, like Twilight for mothers. You can't even suspend disbelief, you have to put it in a package, take it to the post office, mail it to a remote Alaskan township, and leave it there until summer time because nothing in this book is even close to realistic or making sense. This is one of those books about motherhood that made me immediately check and see if the author actually had children because it was so unrealistic. She is a full-time author yet has a full-time nanny yet has no time to write? Her douchebag ex-husband and his new girlfriend want nothing to do with the children and yet also want full custody? And if she has full custody and he's hella Rich then why isn't he paying any kind of child support or alimony? Is her divorce still technically pending? Then why is her lawyer sending her invoices? Why doesn't she get on Medicaid or use any kind of government assistance if she's so poor she's literally selling furniture online? Her kid cuts her own hair and she uses duct tape to fix it? Has she never spent time with her own children? She can't just get a fucking job? Despite the fact that mufflers are specifically designed to not produce CO2 her car somehow manages to kill a dude because she left him in it for a half hour? She's trying to solve a crime and do all this other shit with kids that are miraculously not in her way even though her cliched frazzled motherhood is the entire goddamn plot? She somehow has a preschooler that talks like a 6-year-old and a 2 year old that is basically a 6 month old baby? And every single dude wants to bone her after seeing her for 8 seconds! And what in the ever loving fuck is a wig scarf?? And why wouldn't you tell a woman that a man is trying to drug and rape her!?!?!?!? Is this your first day being a person? I just couldn't. Fuck this chick.
