Holy cheesemas. WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT IT?!? There is so much packed into this one. Fighting for life, death, betrayal, poison, enemies turned allies, romance, k!nk, sadism, dominance, role play, fire. Dear Lott it has it. Plus a beautifully well written book, with depth of characters with multi faucets that literally claw out of the pages and into your heart. Book three cannot get here soon enough. I may expire before July. Seriously.

4 stars for now bc i need to let this marinate, but wow. this was heavy. for a first series that deals with some unserious topics in the book community (rh and kink, though written about extensively, can be done in a cheesy and unrealistic manner that tends to put people off) it does a really fantastic job of addressing ptsd and trauma. it felt like reading about myself sometimes, and that’s both really cool and really fucked up lol.
i’m anxiously awaiting the next book. i can only imagine what this will end up looking like sinceheather and bentley are gone, alastair is still in love with heather, no one will trust eden (but we’ll see on that- been there done that too many times where the guys take her back right away. some groveling from the fmc might be nice? idk.) and poor jayk is home alone babysitting. what the fuck. i was so excited for everyone to get their moment, and for the most part they did!! but i seriously need dom and eden to have some time. i need beau and dom to finally fuck it out. i need more scenes with lucky and jasper bc omg. and poor jayk just needs a hug. ugh.

I loved this book. Honestly the emotions that went through me and the characters was insane. The relationships, the struggles, the spice. All incredibly top notch. Honestly struggling with the fact that I have to wait for the next book.
