I really did like this book, even though it was frustrating at times. Some of the characters make way too many assumptions and the lack of communication got old but I guess that’s probably realistic.
It ends with Alastair taking Bentley and Heather hostage and everyone finding out about Eden setting them free earlier
There were a couple times in the book where the characters were complete idiots, like Eden barely knows how to use a gun? Bullshit. The spice was amazing though and the character development is worth it. Really enjoyed and can’t wait for the next one.

Angst!

My oh my, the angst!

The story pretty much picks up where Book 1 left off as the journey for Eden and her Brutes continues.

The spice certainly upped a notch during particular scenes in this one *fans self*.

Do we have all the answers, no! Did we have fun getting to this point, maybe? Are we excited about for Book 3, yes?!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

4.5 stars for the story, 5 stars for the audio.

Audio
Narrated by: Avery Caris, Joe Arden, Teddy Hamilton, Sebastian York, Jason Clarke, JF Harding, Connor Crais, Zachary Webber, Rose Dioro, and Gregory Salinas.
Style: Full cast, duet.

First — that cast! I didn’t think it could get better after the first book, but adding in Connor Crais, and Zachary Webber and two new-to-me narrators, Rose Dioro and Gregory Salinas? Pure perfection.

Okay, okay, so the audio was amazing. Probably my favorite of the year. Seriously, everyone did an amazing job. And I usually put my review of the audio after the story, but I just had to get it out.

So the story, wow. I loved it! Eden is tough and smart; she’s calculated; she’s a bad@ss. And I loved seeing her friendships and relationships with each of the guys. And hello, Jayk

I got the pleasure of doing an ARC read for this book, and boy oh boy it did not disappoint. It’s a great continuation from the first book and has plenty of action, lots of spice, and many twists and turns. This is a post apocalyptic reverse harem romance with grumpy Ranger MMC’s, a clever librarian FMC, and new morally grey characters sprinkled in between. Definitely check the TW’s before you read though.

The book starts where it left off from book one (Ensnared), so if you haven’t read that book I would start there. But it starts with everyone split apart and trying to find their way back together. It was so interesting getting to learn more about Eden and the boys during this venture. We get more background, and I feel like the characters really opened up more. I still think Jayk is my favorite but I’m really growing to like each Brute. Jasper, so even tempered and quiet. Beau, super loving and open minded. Lucky, definitely the golden retriever of the group just wanting to make everyone laugh. Dom, guarded and strong. And then Jayk, seriously misunderstood and holy moly is he possessive. They each have their quirks and I love seeing how they operate themselves but then also as a unit. I also like Eden’s development in this book - she’s having to confront a lot between what’s happening in her current predicament and the aftermath of that, and just with how she left things with the boys. It takes a while to get to the spicey parts but once they’re there, wow. It did not disappoint, and I definitely blushed a bit while reading. Be warned this does end on a cliffhanger, but it’s so good. I’m still reeling from this read, definitely recommend!

OMG

I don’t think I’ve been this upset that the next book isn’t out since my Harry Potter days. The spice is awesome. The story is awesome. I can’t wait for book 3. I’m so mad I have to wait for it!
