I wanted to like this more than I ultimately did. Lots of narration and internal monologue made for a tedious reading experience. Characters felt younger than their ages and there wasn’t much going on in this story beyond their relationship drama and angst. Nothing really clicked for me.
whew Im glad that is over.This was giving a bunch of teenage drama not almost 30 year olds. The constant state of panic the FMC was in was a bit overrun considering it only started with the best friend’s engagement. Fear of the old guy fear of the new guy fear of the apple she had for breakfast … exhausting to listen to all the thoughts in her head instead of real character dialogue. Give this a try you might like it.

Surprisingly really enjoyed it and it's a cute, light read but nothing really stood out for me. Theo is a green flag man, through and through, don't know what the fuck Marcela EVER saw in Ben 🤮 🤮 . I kind of wished we saw more of Alice and Marcela rekindling their friendship but I guess I'm happy with the way it ended?

This story felt so familiar and real to me. Gamez’s characters drew me in and their antics, struggles, growth, and relationships kept me rapt. Marcela’s journey felt like wrapping yourself up in a soft blanket after a good, healing cry. I’m so exited for the next book in this series, and so so excited that my book club will be reading it this year!
