What a perfect little book. Marcela is a YA librarian who is pining for her ex-boyfriend-turned-best-friend, and when he announces his engagement she white knuckles through it until she meets Theo, the ex’s older brother… who is rehearsing his own declaration of love for the bride-to-be. When she drags him out of the engagement party, everyone assumes they must have hooked up, and their fake relationship (naturally) becomes all-too-real. The problems they deal with are so sincere — a career-ending injury, body image and self esteem problems, codependent relationships — and Marcela’s fear of opening up to Theo, a man who seems completely out of her league, is just so sweet (even if you do want to throttle her at points.) I truly loved reading this romance and really look forward to more books by this author!
