I had such a love/hate relationship with this book overall it was great. I absolutely loved the fmc Marcela. She was messy and chaotic. and so realistic. I wasn't sold on the fake dating at first but I definitely feel in love with Theo before Marce did. I think this is a great book that was a little to close to how messy real life is.

Her college ex and current best friend proposes to his current gf.
It crushes her. She needs to get over him it's been like 8 years.
She doesn't really plan on it being his brother, but when she finds out the brother feels the same way about the bride - a childhood friend. She stops him from "ruining" the wedding.
They end up falling for each other.
You also see that her college ex had really controlling tendencies - he didn't want her, but he didn't want anyone else to have her.
The current gf calls off the wedding when she decides to follow her dreams. the ex-bf comes crawling back to her - what she thought she wanted all these years - but she sees through his bullshit.

I finished this book in 1 day. I actually could not put it down.
I found myself relating so hard to Marcela (and she has my dream job) that I felt like I was actually living the story. And I feel like we've all known a Ben...........ugh.
Marcela is secretly in love with her best friend, who just got engaged to her other friend and she needs to get over it - fast. In comes her best friend's brother, who Marcela saves from making a huge mistake. They quickly decide to have a casual physical relationship so they can both get over other people. But casual is not exactly how it goes 💓

Not a ton of conflict but I did like them. The main character was a self proclaimed chubby kid who hung out in the library to have friends and I feel that for sure
Very close to my perfect romance!! I loved Marcela and what we got to see of her as a librarian. It was very true to my own librarian experience and made me fall deeper into the story. Theo is such a cutie pie. The DRAMA that this book has had me on the edge of my seat gooped an gagged, heart racing. I loved the peripheral “romance” and side characters and how everyone’s stories wrapped up in the end. I will definitely be reading more from this author!
