Another great read from Lucy Score! I love how she takes an "ordinary romance" and throws in some mystery/thrill (like in Things We Never Got Over or the Riley Thorn trilogy) or in this case some serious topics like workplace SA. Dominic Russo is of course the dark broody boss and Ally is a hardworking down on her luck sunshine girl. I cannot say that this is next great work of literature for our generation but this is an overall super enjoyable read with some spice!

i love lucy score’s writing. fun & easy, i’m able to fly through her books as easily as watching a tv show

Ally is my type of heroine! She is a badass strong woman that can save herself. She is a hard working loyal daughter that comes home to help her father who has dementia. She has to work 4-5 jobs just to pay for the home her dad is in, and on top of that she has to fix up her father’s run down house in her spare time. The moments that we see Ally with her father are touching. (I literally sobbed while reading these parts. Lucy, you sure know how to make your characters soo real!)

Dominic is a true alpha-hole! He tries hard to stay unemotional because he feels guilty and responsible for the bad things his father had done. He leaves his job to help his mother fix the mess his father did at the magazine that his mother started.

After getting her fired from her job, his mother hires her and they are thrown together. I loved the way we watched as Dominic showed his true softer caring side as he interacted with Ally. He started out being drawn to her feistiness and he couldn’t stop thinking and wanting to see her. He didn’t want to give into his feelings for her because he didn’t want to be like his father. (Which he was totally not!)

I fell in love with Dom. He thought he was just like his father, but he was sooo much better than he thought he was. I couldn’t put this masterpiece down. The characters were soo well written and lovable. I loved the way Dom grew through the story and how he showed Ally that he truly loved and cared for her. I didn’t want this story to end! I devoured it!

All I can say is my heart! Ally's dad...I cried...every time she talked about him, went to see him, I just bawled! (my grandfather who I lived with growing up had alzheimer's and I thought of him.)

There is just soo much love and thought that Lucy puts into this book. It is just EVERYTHING! Dom, just WOW! It's like Lucy gets better, but she’s awesome always, how does she get better? LOVE LOVE LOVED it!

Characters were too immature for my liking, especially for being characters who are not young adults. They would set boundaries and then the boundaries would be completely disregarded. I'm usually a sucker for the grumpy sunshine trope but I wasn't rooting for either of them. The book is also sexually explicit in a way that seems gratuitous. I usually prefer a slow build to a few intimate scenes, but throughout this whole book (as the perspective changes between the main characters) the reader is consistently reading their sexual fantasies about the other. This book was just not for me.

4.75 My first Lucy Score book and I have to say I definitely enjoyed it. The beginning took me a second to get into, but I loved the dual pov, the banter, and the longing for one another. Who doesn't love a good slow burn? It kinda felt like a YA version of Fifty Shades of Grey lol (but this book IS not YA) mixed with Pride and Prejudice. The size was intimidating but I legit could not put it down. I legit got burned in the park reading this book because I could not stop reading! This is definitely a fun read, their love is so cute.

First book I ever read with this author and let me just say *Chefs kiss* LOVED it! The spice
