Surprisingly enjoyable. It took some convincing to pick this up but it was worth it. I’m usually not a fan of workplace romances, especially if the guy is her boss.
This was a classic case of hot guy older boss and younger female assistant. In some ways in defied those expectations but that was still the core of the book.
I did like the relationship between the main character and the love interest but a lot of this felt a little too optimistic.

Overall, the story was fun and cute, but you would never guess the main characters were in their late 30's/mid-40's. They were very immature for their ages and I found them acting more like a YA-ish couple would than grown adults with fully formed frontal lobes.

This was my first Lucy Score read and other than the fact that this was long af with the slow burn. It was rough the first 24%, but it got better and earned back the star it lost for being so slow to start.
Dominic is 44 and still broken af from his parents. Ally is 39 and going through her own shit in life. I didn’t judge them based on their ages because we all heal at different times in life. This was a very cute read. The spice was 2/5.
