You know when a woman uses a man’s name to have more opportunities? This must be the reverse with this book.
Why on planet earth was every little tiny interaction turned sexual? I understand it’s a spicy book but my god.
Example: pg. 458, lines 10-14 … this made me want to rub my eyeballs up and down a cheese grater. I suppose I should’ve been tipped off at the beginning when he called her “sex hair” since he didn’t know her name..
I only tabbed twice in this entire book. Once was my example above, the second time was just AAH. Pg. 315 “the man had chosen his vendetta against his father over his feelings for me” if it were possible to slap some life experience and the most basic societal understanding into a fictional character I would do it to ally in a heartbeat. Fuck she is the absolute worst.
Way too long of a book. Desperately need to unread it.
There was a lot of spice tho.

probably my best read of 2021, and that says A LOT
-M/F
-enemies to lovers (lots of funny banter)
-steamy as hell
-HEA
-office romance
-no cheating
-safe sex discussion
I have to say, this was probably one of the best books I've read in 2021. The love story of ally and Dominic was so freaking sweet. And HOT. Dominic has the possessive alpha hole down perfectly, he's quite delicious. And Ally is a force to be reckoned with. The way she takes care of her father, so dang sweet. I dont know if it's because I'm a nurse, and my dementia patients have my heart, or if the story was just that dang good, but watching ally talk about her father, and what she goes through to care for him, she's amazing and had me choked up a few times, and I'm not usually an emotional reader. Watching these two circle each other was quite fun. Their banter had me cracking up and I loved watching them fall for each other. And Lucy score knows how to write a man groveling. Dominic won my heart with everything he did for Ally. Like I said, this was probably the best book I've read this year. I feel like I've been finding books to be very surface level in the character development and emotional departments, but this book wasn't lacking in any department. The steam was there. The emotion was there. The laughter was there. The love was there. It truly was a great book and I definitely recommend it!

First things first, I literally devoured this book! It was recommended to me via booktok and omg so good. I was a little hesitant at first given so many of the bad reviews, but I actually enjoyed the story. There’s not very many romance books out there about folks in their 40s finding love.
Both Dominic and Allie are very likable, but also have some pretty significant baggage. I think that they are an accurate portrayal of what people in their 40s are like. I think, falling in love after a certain amount of time with unresolved baggage comes with like dramatic, childish antics. However I really love the story I thought it was well done. I love the banter back-and-forth between Ally and literally anybody. I like the idea of an office romance that’s like forbidden, but like everybody involved to eat the forbidden fruit. The spicy scenes in this book to die for even when they were worlds apart. I felt like the sexual tension buildup was done so beautifully in this book, and like painstakingly slow, where once it finally got to the time it was like finally!! 😂 anyways I enjoyed this book thoroughly. I read it in like less than 24 hours. I thought the book was going to be over, but I like it kind of wrapped up nicely towards the end. Especially with the loose end of Dominic’s father.
The book was by no means perfect, but it was highly enjoyable.

Some people might like this. I am not one of those people.
Longgggg read of a rom-com between two late thirties/early forties characters who’s love affair seemed more like a college couple. SPICY scenes made up for the abysmal plot line though.
Super cute! kinda long but i really loved the banter between Dom & Ally.
