This was so funny and cute. Ally and Dom were a true grumpy sunshine duo with amazing chemistry. Ally is a take no crap strong independent FMC. She does what ever is necessary for the ones she’s loves. Dom is a grumpy ass who under all his history has a heart of gold. He is trying to prove he’s not his father so much he becomes a different version of his dad in the sense he lets no one in. Ally breaks down his barriers immediately and he’s a goner. It was funny, sexy and a well worth it slow burn!

This was a dish of Lucy score very rich secret softy grump with funny strong fmc ( who is not rich ) I didn’t love Dom as much as all the men from knockemount but I had a good time and my heart and other body parts did all the same things . ( was worried I wouldn’t recover from the third act but I did surprisingly Go Lucy )

I'm pretty sure I fell asleep every single time I tried to read a portion of this book so it took a while bc I'd wake up 2 hours later and have to start over. A little smutty for me, tbh. ALSO, halfway through the book the characters have this conversation about being 40 when they've acted 22 the entire book which was annoying because then all the sudden I had to age them 20 years in my head. Wasn't a huge fan, but I'm still learning how to find good books on Kindle Unlimited, so I remain optimistic!

I really loved the story & the character development 10/10

Really enjoyed this, loved Ally and the banter between Ally and Dom. The third act breakup bumped this down for me, it made Dom seem annoying and invasive and immature. Also - It was great that Ally was so independent but at the end of the day she still really needed Dom to survive which was not an ideal storyline for me. Lucy Score is a great writer though, so I am excited to pick up more by her.

Had a little spice to it, but I didn’t like that they were 44+39 but acting like they were 20. There needed to be way more backstory on Dom and especially about his father. I definitely think the book was longer than it needed to be, too much fluff. I loved their banter. I loved their chemistry. There was a great storyline.

God damn this was cute! The relationship between Dom and Ally was so freaking precious and I wish I could read more! The bonus epilogue was definitely not enough.

I also loved the #MeToo storyline and how everything was handled in the end.

When creative director for Label Fashion Magazine, Dominic Russo is summoned to meet his mother at a pizza parlor, he never expects to begin an adversarial relationship with waitress, Ally Morales. Insults and name calling lead to Ally being fired, but Dominic's mother, Dalessandra, hires Ally to work at Label, much to his chagrin. From then on sparks fly as Dominic and Ally can't seem to get along and yet are wildly attracted to each other. As they begin to find common ground, past baggage related to their parents brings emotions to the surface that neither of them are equipped to handle.

By a Thread is a ridiculously fun romance that also includes deep emotional scars, making it a very layered story. The characters and plot are well developed, and while the third act conflict is over played, the conclusion comes full circle for a very satisfying ending. There are clear references to [b:The Devil Wears Prada|5139|The Devil Wears Prada (The Devil Wears Prada, #1)|Lauren Weisberger|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388179604l/5139._SY75_.jpg|38765] and [b:Pride and Prejudice|1885|Pride and Prejudice|Jane Austen|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1320399351l/1885._SY75_.jpg|3060926] expertly woven throughout the story, but it still maintains its own identity. Also, topical issues involving harassment, poverty, and Alzheimer's disease are all addressed as part of the plot. Overall, By a Thread is a very good romance filled with humor and emotion. 4 1/2 stars
