Was drawn to the premise that the characters were 39 and 44 so maybe I’d expected more … I dunno just more.
The mains’ super childish antics really give more 20’s discovering yourselves vibes and that is not a vibe at 40.Who you tryin’ to impress with that? Who is the target audience?

And yes I have a huge problem with the girl working in a pizza place at fucking 39 after working as a graphic designer and quiting from Label. Like you meed money we geeeeet it! But it just doesn’t make sense to get a job that pays like crap knowing full well that your former job would pay more if you’d just seek employment in that field…
And the dude has worked in risk management and because mommy said so he’s now a fashion director just because NEPO BABIES. Yeah fine is a book but aparently I am triggered!
Yeah well the spice level was ok, I guess but I got caught in the corporate aspect that made no sense!
It was all very cliche and was willing to give it 3 stars but then the author goes in and ruins everything with that stupid ending!

3.9/5 - I liked this better than things we never got over but there are def some cringe parts (the dancing was tough). reminded me of devil wears prada a bit (with an unfortunate sprinkling of step up, but luckily that was few and far between)
Too long!! I actually really enjoyed this book, but good grief, it’s almost 550 pages… no romance novel needs to be this long!
