While You Were Sleeping in Revolutionary America with the son of an earl.
I liked that this one was a bit different than the others
I love my Julia Quinn books and the Bridgerton series so I decided to revisit the Bridgerton world by reading the Rokesby series.
I can’t say I didn’t enjoy this one but of course it wasn’t as great as her other books (& I think Rokesby #1 was a bit better). I didn’t mind the initial circumstances that led to the fake marriage circumstances but the ongoing deception was pretty tough to keep accepting when they actually had a basis for a relationship through their letters. The shift towards resolution with the revelation that her brother had died seemed sort of rushed and messy & the lack of truth started to irk me. I loved the ending for the most part though. The title really doesn’t fit either…. so this one is a 3 star for me overall.

I’m really not a fan of the amnesia pretending to be married trope and the ruse went on too long.
I love all of these Bridgerton books. I am not in a good headspace right now since the store I work at has closed and I need comfort reads right now. This one was perfect. This one is a fake husband trope. I loved it! I loved Edward and Cecilia and it has been okay not reading these in the correct order.
Not her best. I found the story line thin and the action slow. Disappointing.
fast-paced
Actually didn’t finish this book. I HATE when the whole plot of a book revolves around lying and etc. I’m sure it’s still a fun book if you liked the Bridgerton series but I couldn’t get into it because of the lying and making up stories. I’m over it and ready to move on to some new books.
