Wow!
Definitely a wild ride! I enjoyed it immensely!
The premise, characters and execution (pun intended) so well done. Tobias (not Toby) is a snarky character with diminished self-preservation instincts. This makes for hilarious dialogue and inner musings. Jove didn't know what he getting into when Tobias landed in his life!
The suspense and action of the story kept me engaged. Loved it and highly recommend if you don't mind dark humour, gorey bits and a murder mafia family.

This book was seriously WOW fantastic! My eyes hurt from not being to stop reading! Young Tobias always in the wrong place at the wrong time finds himself being saved by much older Jove and then in turn saves Jove! In more ways than one! Tobia's inner musings about his situations and the violence around him are Laugh Out Loud funny! Jove's POV is just as fun in his thoughts and reactions to the oddness that is Tobias. So much awkward crazy chemistry between these two! Somehow you will also find yourself liking other characters who written in any other way you would not! Jove's son Hadrian and his dynamic with Tobias is tons of fun as well. I received an ARC of this book and I have to say it really has it all! Violence, Mystery, Action, Steamy Chemistry, Endearing moments, Sarcastic Humor, and Horses!! I highly recommend you give it a read! I need Hadrian's story and a story for Izawa!
I did not expect a dark romance, age gap, mafia book to be so gosh dang heartfelt. Plus MURDER HORSES?? And a writer who's clearly been around horses? Why did this languish in my kindle for so long?
This is a Guy Ritchie movie just waiting to be filmed!
I had so much fun reading this book! Tobias cracked me up constantly – resigned to being in the wrong place at the wrong time and potentially dying at any moment, he said whatever was in his head!
Jove was magnificent – I could well imagine him in my head and loved everything about him. The brothers were fantastic – I think Hadrian was my favourite but only just – and the whole story of a retired kingpin being baited out of retirement to face his death was written fast-paced and fun. The cast of characters were really interesting – I know who I want to be in the second book – and although I kinda guessed who was doing what, it was still utterly fascinating.
I will never look at horses the same way again and cannot wait for book two to be written/come out.
An absolutely cracking 5/5 from me!

I’m a bit…dissatisfied. Was this book written well? Yes. Was the story entertaining? For the most part, yes. Was something missing? Hell yes.
Tobias and Jove as characters at the beginning of the story were interesting. But as the story went on they became more one dimensional and the usage of kid in this story was astounding. 230<\b> times?!? Really?!? And the dynamic between Jove and his sons? I know that Neva is next and I’m interested in his story but we should have gotten something more from the relationship between father and sons. It seems like things were more so swept under the rug in order to wrap up the story.
Overall this a 3.1✨ read.
