This is the first book I have read by this author and I absolutely loved it. This has to be one of the best mafia books I've read and I can't wait for more of the series. It has wonderful characters and a wonderful storyline that is well written and kept me enthralled with it from beginning to end.

A gripping mixture of humor, action, and violence

Look, I don’t generally enjoy “dark” books. I read to escape my problems and I love to laugh. This one, though, had just enough snarky/dry humor that I was able to not just enjoy it but love it. Oh, and hello explosive chemistry between the sheets, too! I’ll definitely look forward to more in this series.

RTC but I really enjoyed this one. I felt like it kind of dragged at times but I really enjoyed the violence and the mystery plot, these are things I always enjoy in books and I was very pleased with how they were done in this book. I wish the romance was a little more developed, but I really enjoyed it regardless of that.

I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest review.

Blood Sports is a wierd, pseudo-mafia, MM romance with an age gap and killer horses. Yeah, I get it—one of those things is not like the other, but believe me when I say that this book was an absolute trip, but in a good way.
One of the downsides to spending so much time reading is that you begin to pick up on narrative cues. Little things that, when present, you can recognize and be able to predict what sort of story you’re getting into. It’s the difference between wondering why the protagonist used words like “chiselled” and “mysterious” to describe their enemy, and KNOWING that that means they’re probably going to tiddle each other’s bits at some point in the near narrative future. This oracle-like ability to predict conclusions I have developed is my curse to bear, and I do so happily. However, it is still kind of nice when there’s a story not even I can see coming—and Blood Sports definitely surprised me on more than one occasion.
That isn’t even addressing how much I loved the dialogue in this book. Seriously, every time Tobias and Hadrien talked, I just wanted to highlight it and save it for later perusal and hilarity. Some of the lines were just that funny.
While not something I’d recommend to everyone, I would say that if you like smart ass characters who can’t stop talking even when their life depends on it, horses, or more light hearted mafia romances that are both warm and fuzzy, but also still murdery; then I would definitely pick this up. I enjoyed it immensely.

Not what I expected after reading previous works by Daniel May that were kinky, smutty, raunchy, and so hot. This was more of a who-is-trying-to-kill-me thriller with a couple of sex scenes.

That said, I did very much enjoy the story and the ending. The genre is thriller/romance/horror/comedy with a happy ending

Wondering if we will be seeing more of the horrific Saturday horses.
