Good. Totally different style for me. Oftentimes too gorey.

An excellent presentation of one of the best comics I've ever encountered. The casting was inspired, the foley and music fit perfectly; this audio drama completely lived up to my (rather high) expectations.

Amazing world, stories, characters with lots of depth and lastly great voice acting. Especially James McAvoy's impersonation of Morpheus.

Morpheus is sexist

This was the first audiobook I’ve ever listened to/read and I had a really good time with it!
The performances were outstanding, the sound design beautiful and sometimes horrifying, and it very much felt like a comic book come to life (which is a good thing, I love comics).
That being said, if you expect this to be one big overarching story, you will be disappointed. I didn’t mind, but I was a bit surprised when this audiobook went from
SpoilerDream being captured, then escaping and getting his stuff back to fix the Dreamworld
for like the first half to more of an anthology style story collection centered more or less around Morpheus or the other Endless. Again, I didn’t mind, but I can see how this can be a bit of a letdown for some, especially since even I didn’t find every later chapter all that interesting.
But I still very much enjoyed this experience, I loved Morpheus to bits, and I would definitely recommend The Sandman, especially to fans of DC comics.
Overall, 4 out of 5 stars (maybe 4.2 if goodreads would let me). ★

Nice diversion, and really loved this adaptation.

This audio play was so well done!

Extraordinary vision and sublime writing delivered with flawless acting and direction. It’s rare that I listen to something that truly bowls me over, but this was a feast of riches that just kept going!

Note: I have not read the comics. This is my first experience with Gaiman's Sandman.

I LOVED the obvious work they put into the audio version of this collection! I didn't know what to expect, but soon I was lost in the amazing voice-work and sound effects. I grew up enjoying old time radio plays and this brought all that flooding back. They did an excellent job with the production and TBH most of my stars are awarded for presentation.

The stories were hit or miss for me. I'm not a big comic reader so things that tied in to the DC universe weren't very appealing to me. I was also sad that women in these stories generally had a pretty bad time. I advise against being a woman in the Sandman universe unless you are an immortal being, and even then I cannot recommend it. Death was there, but there was woefully not enough of her for my taste.

Sandman himself was engaging, but sometimes it felt a bit like he was too different from story to story. Focus was more on the lore and the stories than on building a strong character, which is fine, but not as much my taste.

Overall an enjoyable time that brought me a lot of nostalgia, but I also don't have much desire to pick up the books.
