I have been a huge fan of Neil Gaiman in general and the Sandman graphic novel for decades. I've read the graphic novels over and over and over, and I never tire of them. I was very excited when I heard about this project, and even more excited when I realized Neil Gaiman himself was narrating - so you KNOW this project is being done right! This audiobook adaptation of the great graphic novel does not disappoint - it is as close to perfect as I can imagine an audio rendering of the story can be! The voice talent is superb, and the adaptation so closely follows the actual text as to be exactly as I recall it! I was beyond pleased - and amazed! - by this wonderful audiobook, and I can't wait for volume 2!
3.5 generally.
Audiobook was a 5 out of the 5 stars for an excellent cast and performance.
Writing is a 3 stars because fascinating premise and characters. But there were too many characters and scenes for an audiobook. It felt all over the place.
Graphic book might be better for those who have trouble with the audiobook. I'll be checking it out soo.

That was fun. You wouldn't think an audiobook could be so similar to the graphic novel. I guess Neil Gaiman's text is really the heart of it. I hope they do the rest of the series. Recommended, if you like the Sandman.
I haven't read the comics for this, but I've been wanting to for quite a while. This gave me a great chance to experience the story, along with the awesome vocal performances. The cast for this is really all-star, and there are incredible effects to go along with it. The only downside was a few places where the audio didn't quite get the effect across. Aside from that, this was an excellent performance!
I liked this book a lot but turns out the author is a horrific human being so that's sad. Maybe don't give him anymore money or notoriety.
I haven't used an audiobook since I was a small child and we had some that had records that went with picture books. I was always worried I would get distracted or miss something (though a 15 second rewind is helpful). I really enjoyed this, but I'm not sure if it was because of the audiobook, if it was the cast of characters that made it like a program or if it was Neil Gaiman's voice that I think I could listen to forever. The story was good. It drew you in and everyone did an amazing job. I am jumping to the next Act now. Hoping I will enjoy that as much.
