Very enjoyable audio production incorporating stories and myths of dreams from many sources.  Some parts, mostly those involving Dream — his imprisonment, his palace, Nada — felt like authentic stories, but other parts felt shoehorned into the story. Also could do with less violence against women as casual character development or plot advancement.

Another like this one and I get a tattoo of Neil Gaiman's face.

Kat Dennings as Death is so calming. And it's so interesting how James McAvoy in this and Tom Sturridge in the Netflix series have the same voice quality in their performances of Morpheus.

Revisiting the Dreaming through this exceptional audio adaptation was honestly heaven. The production value is stunning. Dirk Maggs aimed to make this a cinematic experience, not just an audio drama and that's exactly what it felt like. The OST is sprawling, the voice acting is poignant, and the sound effects (especially for primarily visual grandeur!) was truly magical. James McAvoy won me over with the aloof depth of his voice and the poignant flashes of emotion and pain he evoked out of the Dream Lord. I'm happily spoiled now with his take on Morpheus. It took me until Façade to get used to Kat Dennings as Death, but her stories still had me in tears every time. And to hear Gaiman voice his own script notes as the Narrator was hugely special, especially knowing he took joy in it because it allowed those with visual difficulties to create their own Sandman comics in their heads, and so that more people could experience these stories and myths. It was truly a joy to experience these profound and inspiring stories in this medium. I never get tired of revisiting this world and these volumes. Onto Part 2 and may the TV series be just as vast and wonderful!

Fucking brilliant is about all I can say. How can one review a collection of Masterpieces that the Sandman Graphic Novel series. One just cannot do it justice. So all I can say is download this bad boy right away and lose yourself in the twisted fantastical work of the Endless. I usually do not love All Cast audio versions, but in this case it was just plain incredible. I just wanted to keep listening to Gaiman and the star studded case as they took me away from the mundane world. After you have listened than go check out the Graphic series it is brilliant. I always have a hard time with Graphic Novels as its not linear for this nerd but that series blew me away and I recommend it for everyone. Heads up not for the sensitive as it is quite gory at times but damn it is perfection.
