Willows powers were the only part of this book I liked.

There was little character development and the ending was annoying. If we only had Willows POV I could understand the ending, but we also had Grays POV so why wasn't there more foreshadowing.

This was a fast read but not really worth it. There wasn't much of a story, the world building is minimal and both the

Ehhhhhh.. I was interested the whole time but now that I think about it her whole point was to find these bones but at no point did she actually search for them. And then her roommates seem interesting and they supposedly develop a friendship but you never actually get to see it. The ending was too much gaslighting and just was too far to feel like I would ever forgive Gray. just eh

Poorly written fantasy/romance with average but disturbing smut. All extremely tired tropes without any subtleties of characters or interesting plot. The murder mystery element was so stapled together it didn’t seem like the characters even cared about it. I knew from the trigger warnings at the beginning of the book that I would really struggle with this one. My thoughts on the MMC Grey/Thorn is that how can someone so revolting and evil also be SO bland?? He intensely crossed boundaries like taking off her pants while she was sleeping. The one thing I did like was the forest magic, but overall, no.

DNF at 70%, read for bookclub!
