no the book wasn’t perfect, but my GOD was it fucking amazing. i rate books based off of my enjoyment and experiences while reading - i know most reviewers are hella engaged in critiquing writing style and other aspects of the book but i read to enjoy, not to be overly critical. with that being said: i. am. shook.
the magical system of this world was incredible and i absolutely LOVE the way that it was portrayed and explained. the characters SLAYED BIIITCHESSSS EEEE!!! this book was an absolute whirlwind from start to finish like wow. i was hooked from the frickin get go and it never let up. action packed to the brim, i was never bored, and i wanted more. immediately after this review i will be starting the second book.

!!!!!SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ON!!!!!

okay. i LOVE willow. she was absolutely badass and i think what sets her apart from most FMCs for me is the fact that she was powerful from the get go - not a little girl who needed to be taught how to wield power. i absolutely loved how she never faltered from her morals and continued to question everyone and everything in order to restore the old ways of magic.
GREY. MY MAN. i expected a much more villainous character based on the TW at the beginning but i didn’t think he was as horrible as we were lead to believe. he just wanted to get back to his body and HE WANTS TO LOVE her

At first it was fine, a normal romantasy I guess. But as it went on the romance felt weirder, and
he took her virginity and it was uncomfortable to read, very rapey vibes. Then in the end he was the bad guy I guess?
idk i was so checked out by that point I probably won't retain anything from this book as time passes.

I love Harper L Woods. Her books are always draw me in and grip me. Love the different worlds and characters. Willow was badass. Grey - yum but who doesn’t love the villain!

I did not finish this book. This book had a really intriguing cover, witches, vampires, a spooky academic vibe, easy read. I got excited thinking there would be necromancy because bones is a big part of the plot, but, I should have checked the reviews more thoroughly. I totally understand having “dark” themes but I am not into age gap romances with a teenager. The fmc and mmc are the only fleshed out characters imo, and the romance was not for me.
