I love her even more than before. I also could relate to her on many levels and some of those I don't understand. But I don't have to and that's cool ans so is she.
I listened to this audiobook on a 9+ hours road trip from LA to TX (& then realized my phone was drained & my charger was not charging the entire time :/).
I thought this was pretty good overall. There were definitely some LOLs for me.
I saw Amy perform in Austin before she made it big & it was a great night. My friend & I still remember her "picking on" us in the front row & we got pictures with her afterward. She is smart, snarky & VERY funny.

I saw several 2-star, 3-star ratings/reviews of this book before I started listening. Thank goodness that I've never cared about those once I've decided to read/listen to a book, because, as always, it was for the best. Because I liked this book. I had fun listening to it. Time flew. I smiled, I laughed, and that's all that matters. You're funny, Amy Schumer, and as I was in the restroom taking care of business, listening to your audiobook, I momentarily considered sending you a bottle of wine.
I'd sum this up by saying: "She's definitely an asshole, but a surprisingly good person, as are all of us." I listened to this audiobook with my pearls pretty much permanently clutched, other than the occasional (often mortifying) anecdote that proved she's a stand-up (no pun intended) daughter, sister, friend, and feminist. I'm not always a fan of her comedy, but I respect her and her success.
I love Amy Schumer, in all her crude and self-mocking glory! She writes very well and her storytelling is, unsurprisingly, first rate. I think I actually enjoyed the more serious chapters more than the funny bits - although I did laugh out loud over and over. I bet the audiobook is amazing. I just love that she champions women, shares her rape and sexual harassment stories to help overcome the shame and guilt of other victims, and lets her freak flag fly!

I was fine with this for the most part but it just wasn't funny. Isn't that her thing?
Mostly listened to this one; I liked having her inflection. I would advise other readers to expect a memoir which is occasionally funny, NOT a 'cracking up every paragraph' comedy book.
I admire Schumer's frankness, openness, and ability to laugh at herself and acknowledge her own flaws. This book had more breadth + heft than I was expecting, and I wasn't enamored with every single segment, but for the most part enjoyed!
