Some of these stories were so funny that I couldn't stop laughing. However, others had me thinking of what is the best way to kill myself. Still, the only reason this is a three is because her sex jokes are hilarious and I can deal with her comedy in small dosages.

But what made me a Fan For Life was her chapter on the tragic shooting at a showing of her movie "Trainwreck." She writes about the two women who lose their lives and her feelings about gun control and also offers ways that, should the reader be inclined, to have their opinions heard.

Although it had its moments, this book is generally artificial and crude. I understand that she is a comedian and was trying to be light-hearted and funny about serious topics, but she came across as ignorant, especially in relation to mental illness, and very shallow. One of the most frustrating books I've read this year.
Humorous anecdotes mixed with raw honesty about the people and events that have shaped Schumer's life.
I surprised to find that much of this book is aimed at helping women who read it to confront difficult issues such as abusive relationships, bodyshaming, rape/consent, parent-child relationships, and dealing with a family member who has a a chronic health condition. The writing is brave and the hard-won advice is practical and empowering.
The audiobook is read by the author and is recommended for fans of the comic and readers who enjoy a look behind the scenes of Hollywood life.

I love Amy Schumer, and I enjoyed this even more than I thought I would. I laughed aloud at several points, enjoyed hearing about her life, and felt teary at other points. Her voice is loud and clear, and I'm glad there are women in the public eye like her.
So this book read aloud by Amy is awesome! You feel her emotions as she shares some very funny, sad and trying times in her life. Not a book for people who are offended by sex talk or bad language, but I laughed out loud many times while driving around.
