Wow this sucks. I thought it’d be a nice story about a knight but it’s really just contradicting anecdotes on how to be an exemplary knight. It’s full of sexist lines and total nonsense. This is one of those books that I guarantee never would’ve been published if it hadn’t been written by a famous actor. Ethan is a HORRIBLE writer.

A fun little book with nuggets of wisdom drawn from Eastern and Western philosophy. While I got it at the library (so I obviously didn't do this), you'll want to underline lots of passages. It had the same feel as "The Art of Living" by Epictetus (interpretation by Sharon Lebell).

I picked up a hard copy of this book at Ryan Holiday’s “Painted Porch Bookshop” in Bastrop, TX last year.

If you’re looking for a short, easily accessible read that addresses ideals of Stoicism and how to live a virtuous life, this book is difficult to top.

I have notes and scribbles all throughout my copy, which tells me it will likely live on in my head for quite some time.

I’d like to meet Mr. Hawk some day and thank him for passing along the wisdom in such a succinct and meaningful way.

Lovely. Short and sweet. Taking in myths and folklore from many different sources. I found it pretty moving.

an interesting read! Surprisingly useful advice included in a very easy to read formatting. I have a penchant for picking up any weirdly shaped books I come across at the library
