A joyful reminder to embrace your inner child. And honestly, some really good funny and poignant moments (even if it did get woo-woo). It did actually warm up my heart and I do have some good goals now moving forward.

Make everything into a special occasion.
Laugh as much as possible.
My body is good because it can do cool things.
I am qualified. X 10.

This book resurfaced on my bookshelf at the right time, when I needed a few long soaks in the bath being reminded to accept myself and to enjoy the small pleasures.

I have never felt more like a book was directly written for me. Wow. I’m kind of speechless to be honest and yet I have so much to say about this book.

Disclaimer. I did not necessarily feel like it teaches you how to heal your inner child directly, but rather what we can learn from kids around us. Perhaps in order to heal our inner children.

This book has felt so personal. I’m very much going through some heavy shit and whenever I felt misunderstood, lonely or just scared, somehow, i picked up this book and within the next few pages, it struck a nerve. She talked about exactly everything I’m going through. From struggles about confidence, body images, self worth to how to forgive your parents and yourself.

I believe, truly, everyone can take away something from this book. It’s made me cry uncontrollably because of how understood I felt by her way of writing. It made me feel like I was talking to an old friend and she was passing on these wise life lessons.

Definitely read it, if you can and most importantly!! if you’re ready to feel some deeply buried pain.
