A sweet, light selection of short stories, with a focus on romance and relationships. The title story is the lengthiest and most enjoyable, focusing on a cautious young woman who takes a big risk on a weekend in Paris and learns to reinvent herself and her life. The other stories are a mixed bag -- some kind of sweet, some with more of a tart commentary on mid-life marriages, disappointments, and adjustments of expectations.
A nice little light diversion for fans of the author.

Loved "Paris for One"! I think there could have been more meat to Fabien's story to make it longer, but oh well! Enjoyed the read and appreciated the short & sweet story JoJo Moyes put together.
My favorite short stories at the end were called, "Between the Tweets" and "A Bird in the Hand." I could picture the latter turned into a romantic comedy. The ones I didn't like were, "Love in the Afternoon" and "Last Year's Coat". Just a little too depressing for me. The other four were decent and I enjoyed reading them.

Enjoyed “Paris for One” a lot. “A Bird in the Hand” and “The Christmas List” were pretty good too.
I loved Jojo Moyes' Lou Clark series of books, but had not read any of her other books before.
I am not really a short story kind of person, as I like to really get into a story, so was not sure how I would feel about Paris for One and Other Stories. Paris for One itself is more of a Novella and I enjoyed this one very much. I would happily have read a full blown novel of this story.
The other, much shorter stories were a bit hit and miss, but on the whole I did enjoy them, and a couple of them even brought a tear to my eye.
Overall, an enjoyable, light read, but I will stick to her novels in future, I think, which is actually a compliment to Jojo Moyes!

Another "book" by Jojo Moyes that I loved. One novella and a few short stories- almost all of which I wish were full length books! She has a way of drawing you into the characters so quickly.

Moyes' style is pretty easy going; most stories read like one of those $20 million romantic comedies that still escape movie studios occasionally, especially the titular one. Almost all comment on how a slight alteration in a woman's appearance or a change in their routine can magically bolster their confidence. Can't say I blame them, but the author doesn't explore much beyond it. It's puddle-deep but pleasurable writing all the same.
