The amazing thing about this series is that in the first book Jorg is in no way a hero. He's not an-anti hero, or just a regular guy who makes wrong choices, he's an out and out villain who only saves the day to prove he can. In the first book one of the very first things he does is rape a woman, just for the hell of it (something the poor author got no end of grief over). But by the time I got to the end of this book I could fully believe that Jorg would given up everything for the love of his son. The character development was amazing, and while I have to admit to being left confused by the ending, the plot was equally fantastic.
