I found the mystery of it intriguing and I liked the main characters (nehemia esp) but I just did not find the king very scary. The pacing felt off and the drama didn’t feel there. It was like she got pulled into doing a summer camp competition. It felt like we got told things instead of shown things so we just had to assume thats what she was like, and then she would act completely different anyway.
