This story was more than I thought it would be. The aftermath, the darkness, the healing. The idea of a support system but also it needing to be a journey you take on your own. It's beautifully written, tears were flowing as I processed my own healing journey.

Did I enjoy it? Yes. Did I shed a tear? Just a wee one. Was it well-written? Definitely.
Am I the target audience? Probably not. At 51 years young I aged out of this market MANY years ago, but I’ll keep pretending for now.
I liked A Thousand Broken Pieces more than A Thousand Boy Kisses, mainly because the emotional rollercoaster wasn’t as cheesy, and the travel element was more my vibe. Japan was a standout for me—the kintsugi, the cherry blossoms, everything about the culture and its symbolism was just beautiful and really resonated with the healing journey. It felt authentic and seamlessly tied into the characters' growth without being too over-the-top.
But let's talk about that trip—“some money came available.” Yep, that had me rolling my eyes. If only my travel expenses were solved so easily! Still, it didn’t ruin my enjoyment of the book.
As for the characters, I liked them about the same as in A Thousand Boy Kisses. They’re both on their own healing journeys, and while I wasn’t completely head-over-heels for them, I still found them easy to root for.
The death of Rune was the moment that got me closest to tears, although I did roll my eyes a little at another character dying so young (again!). That said, I was glad to see him and Poppy reunited in death—it felt like a fitting, bittersweet ending.

Did I have an enjoyable time? Yes, definitely. It was a great follow-up with better pacing, and I was far more invested in the journey itself than the romance this time.
Would I recommend it? Absolutely, but with the same caveat: romance in books isn’t quite the same as romance in real life. Proceed with caution, my YA readers!

Tillie managed to break my heart into a thousand pieces and pulled it back together again with each page of this book. It's beautifully sad and healing all at the same time. I started crying on page one after being thrown straight back into those last chapters of A Thousand Boy Kisses but it wasn't just sad tears, there were so many joyous tears too. It took me a while to build up the courage to read this book and I wish I had read it sooner. If you have read book 1 please read book 2 as well, your sound will thank you for it.

the second book to the most heartbreaking one. if you are unfortunately going through grief or even feeling somewhat alone, read this. the warmth and the feel good make me feel abit more certain about life. the story of how the two (savannah and cael) compliment each other is just so absolutely beautiful. this book did make me cry but some were even happy tears. once again the duel perspective thrived in this book. i loved the description of all the different countries they travelled to and the different cultures and deeper meanings to them. the only .75 deduction is due to the fact that it could never be on the same level as ATBK.
I absolutely loved the first book (A Thousand Boy Kisses) but I think this is the first time I have loved the second book more! This book shows you the grief and heartache we all go through when we lose a loved one or friend. I loved all the different characters and their stories. I could not put this book down! All I can say is make sure you have lots and lots of tissues! This is a book that will definitely stay with me for a long time!
