This was such a fun story and great sequel. Take notes authors: if you aren't writing some big epic fantasy, this is it. Pacing was pretty fast, but steady and well organized. I was on a reading slump for a while and was able to pick up right where I left off no issues. Freya is annoying, but redeems herself. Bjorn is a studly, tough warrior that worships his Lady Love and it's lovely to see. The plot and story are good too. No notes y'all.

Also, I listened to book 2 and I'd highly recommend that. The narrators have a slight nordic-like accent and it adds to the experience.

Highly recommend.

Hmmmm I’m not sure what it was exactly that I didn’t love about this book the way I did the first because the story line was excellent!

I think perhaps it’s should have been a trilogy? I think the end should have been Harlads big reveal and then the next book pick up with our duo stuck on the beach?

Also the whole second half just gave massive return of the king vibes and it’s literally all I could picture.

Still loved the story line! The twists were so heartbreaking

I liked the first one better for some reason

Meh, just felt this whole series was very underwhelming.

somehow this felt so much longer than the first one because so much more happens here! I really loved how it was so well interwoven and how the Norse mythology really becomes central to the story.
I did NOT love the love/hate that Freya and Bjorn had going on; drama for drama’s sake. But other than that, this was a solid sequel that adds to the first story and doesn’t feel forced. They did actually feel like two parts to a whole.

(I mean there’s no way Heir of Twisted Lies is just like this, is there????)
