Absolute love!
There were so many emotions in this slow burn M/M romance that it gradually buried it's way into my heart.

I truly loved this love story about Becks, country singer and his friend/fake boyfriend, Nicky.

The story was slowburn, full of questining one's decisions and feelings, dealing with rejection, fearing not being good or simply enough, battling the vultures that are the paparazzi, and dealing with the fallout of one impulsive act.

The characters were spot on.
Nicky the quiet, sweet gay boy. Becks the upbeat, goofball singer.
They are both one of the good ones and their love for each other is so obvious for the readers, yet they struggle to grasp it.
What I loved most is how they both want the best but still end up messing up everything. And those mistakes brings the so close to the reader that I couldn't help falling for them.

The side characters were great also, providing detailed background and constant great conversations that pushed the story forward.

There were some funny parts but mostly I was just lost in the emotional turmlil of both men. I cried a lot and I honestly felt reall, close to both Nicky and Becks.

This book was so not what I expected but I highly recommend it to the lovers of love stories.

I really enjoyed this story! I loved the characters and thought that this was a fantastic read and really well done. I loved the way that the authors worked with the fact that Becks had never been into guys before Nicky. I connected to the characters and felt their emotions as well. Both are in for a confusing time as they try and figure out what is going on around them and how they are supposed to act and who they truly are. This story definitely hooked me on the series and I think these authors!

This book had EVERYTHING except the romance...there was a fake relationship, misunderstanding, mention of drug and alcohol abuse, deadbeat mother, rebuilding of a relationship with said deadbeat parent, death by cancer, betrayal, the president’s gay son, the MC going from saying he’s not a famous celebrity to claiming he really is that famous and back again, lots of paparazzi and hashtags, grand gestures, shitty exes, public declarations of love and a HEA that honestly felt completely tacked on and not even that convincing.

There was so much happening, and none of it was even remotely convincing that these two deserved to be together, let alone in the same room. Becks’ mum passed away, and instead of dealing with THAT, he was on live TV gushing about Nicky. Like WTF...

So much went unresolved in this book, and seeing that the next story is about Nicky’s stupid ex, I’m definitely not reading the rest of this series.

This was my first book by the authors and I am definitely not going to be in a hurry to find another book.

Sweet NA romance with its typical communication problems. How to confess your real feelings to your big brother's best friend. How to explain your best friend your no longer straight and realizing your feelings for his "little" brother are no longer platonic. Add in the drama of being in the spotlight and you have all the ingredients for a sweet romance. Thank god Becket manned up and owned the consequences of his actions...

This is such a sweet story! I love ALL the characters and their tight friendship! Considering this is a love story I found it focusing more on friendship, but I really don't mind. I would love to have a group of friends like these in my life!

Going back to the love story between Nicky and Beckett I could feel Becks confusion about his feelings towards Nicky. I was invested in their struggle and really felt for both of them. *Spoiler alert* Except... they kind of lost me in the ending. I can see why their "proclamation" was made on stage, in front of Becks fans (if you read it you'll understand), but I would have prefered if it had been done in private. To me it would have felt more sincere.

I would love to read more about all the characters in this book, not just Nicky and Beckett! They all have very different, and well defined, personalities. As I mentioned in the beginning, I would love to have them all as my friends!

I received an ARC from the authors and I'm happy to share my review.

Since I skimmed so much I’m going to refrain from rating, but I did not like this.

- Miscommunications galore
- Very little communication at all
- lots of emotional back and forth. Make up your damn minds.
- Basically everyone was a huge drama llama
- Too many characters. It’s clear this is a spin-off and you feel plonked down into the middle of the story.
- lots of telling not showing. The MCs are supposed to have had this great connection, but I don’t see any evidence of that at all
- I found neither of the characters to be particularly sympathetic or likable.

This just didn’t work for me on any level. Disappointing, but it happens.
