Honestly this book pissed me off. The things I liked about the previous two novels in this series are completely absent from this one. Both of the main characters are kinda insufferable. This book feels significantly longer than the others in the series and after all that, we get no conclusion. It just leaves a cliff hanger ending. I liked the previous books and the way they are framed. One day following a cast of characters as they grapple with mortality. I feel like this one is just… empty of any depth. Its a shame because I really liked the previous ones. I dont plan to find out the end of Paz and Alanos story.

AHHH I NEED THE NEXT BOOK NOW. honestly it took me a while to finish the last few chapters of this book because i really didn’t want it to end and i didn’t want to leave Paz and Alano. After reading these 3 books in succession I felt so involved in the world. I loved the loops to our other boys in the first books, Rufus getting this first bike, Orion writing a novel for Valentino. I love them all so much and I feel sad to be leaving them all for now. this book was quite difficult to read at times because of the subject matter. but i think it was portrayed really well, like it showed how messy and hurtful it all is for everyone involved. i also can’t believe i waited 700 pages for Paz and Alano to kiss omg. but it saved their lives. so it was definitely the kiss of the century. saying that i loved the others too. rufus and mateo in the nightclub. orion and valentino on the bridge. i really like these books and i’m super nervous for the next one. but i’m excited to have more paz and Alano and i’m hoping we get some more Orion. i feel like that wasn’t quite finished. joaquin scares me a little bit. i’m nervous to see what’s going to happen. but i loved these books and i can’t wait for the next one!!

The first book is still the best, but I liked this one more than the second one. It´s a book that is super graphic and I had to paus sometimes after some chapters. Still a important read and I will have to read the next book.
The only thing I´m annoyed with this book it that it didn´t have a end. Like for reall after 700 pages it´s still going. I really thout it was going to end with Alano dying and Paz tryng to stay alive for a while. But we will see what hapends in the last book.

Extremely upset that it wasn't clear from the start that this would be a two-part story. It kinda ruined the whole book for me? Left such a bad taste in my mouth.
That being said the story itself is kinda interesting but I'm a bit tired of the metaverse.

I love this world so much. Every book has just the most heartbreaking moments. There is a particular moment with an older man in a store that really touched me.
That said I do feel this one was a tad long and harder to get into than the others. I'm not sure why as I do love Paz quite a bit. I think maybe Alano was a character that I struggled a bit more to love. His brain is complicated and at least for the first half I felt he was a tad obnoxious.
But I am still truly looking forward to the next book. Maybe it's because the others span over the course of a single day. It did make me want to reread book one but I'm not sure if I'm mentally in a place to handle that. I could also see why this one could be quite triggering so definitely read the trigger warnings before starting.

I love this series and the way the author handles taboo/difficult topics. Just like the fictional Death-Cast has helped so many live each day to the fullest, so too have these books helped me realize what it is to live each day.

That being said this one was harder to read than the other two, for reasons addressed in the author's content warning at the beginning of the book. Please read it and take it seriously! Spoiler for relating to a character and topics mentioned in content warning.
As someone who experienced heavy suicidal ideation since childhood, I was not prepared for just how much I would relate to Paz. The complete hopelessness and despair for the future, grieving the person I could have been without feeling the way I did, the way self-harm becomes a crutch... Way too familiar. I found my way out of the darkness with support from my family, my friends, an amazing therapist, medication, and my wonderful partner who I met not long after my Almost-End-Day. And even though I chose to keep living almost 3 years ago, Paz resonated so strongly with me that I needed a little break from reading. But that is part of the strength of his character. Paz is not alone and neither am I and neither are untold others reading his story and relating to it.
