Back in the day, softcore self-help books were my favorite genre. This is smack in the middle of the tony Robbins, the law of attraction type of book. The central content is relevant and useful, but heavily surrounded by salesy pitches like "do you want to improve you life? Do you want to make money and get in shape" like some kind of 90s infomercial.
That said the central messages rings true:
A 60 minutes early morning routine to start the day leads to better self development, inspiration, sense of self agency, leads to better outcomes during the day.
The secret formula is "savers"
Silence - meditation
Affirmations
Visualization
Exercise
Read
Scribing - journaling

Waking up around 5am to do this is recommended.

So inspired by this book! Elrod packages the best personal development practices into a scalable daily ritual under the moniker Miracle Morning and with the associated acronym Life S.A.V.E.R.S. to assist with recall if the steps.

I have pages of notes - but a couple of callouts.
- I love the notion of an affirmation prior to bedtime to condition the mind and body to wake up refreshed.
- Elrod changed my limited perspective on self-help books as a category - and now I see how to use them to my advantage.
- Our level of success works in tandem with our level of personal development.

It's a good idea, but entirely not possible for large swaths of the population. I don't begrudge Elrod the privilege that he has on full display in his book, but I do wish he was conscious of that privilege and how integral it is in his "miracle morning" routine. If you have an hour every morning to focus entirely on yourself and your well-being, great (no sarcasm; I really do mean that). But if you don't, then pass this up.

While most of the ideas in the book are pretty basic, it is motivating. I agree with other reviews about the self promotion in the book. After a while, it got a bit old, but I do believe the author is really trying to engage his readers, which is why there are constant references to the website (and other books). Not sure if I will really take the Miracle Morning leap, but if I do, I am sure there will be many benefits.

I think the concept has merit--I've just started the 30-day challenge, but the writing is lacking and I didn't gain any new insights. I agree with another reviewer that the Miracle Morning could be explained in a single blog post, perhaps more effectively.
