At first, I wasn’t sure if I was going to like this book because I wasn’t obsessed with the first two. I even almost stopped reading like ten chapters in because it felt like the previous books, where the guy is trying to control their life and have people turn on them and bully them, just go turn around and make them fall in love with them. So that put me off on it in the beginning, as well as the non-con because it felt too much like grape, which sucks because typically I’m open minded with non-con because it’s meant to be a dark romance, but I just think it was done wrong here. Also, I didn’t like that multiple times, he got himself off and not her, like on purpose.
But honestly, besides those things, I liked this book much more than the first two. Like I loved how obsessed he was with her for years, how possessive he was, how he would do ANYTHING for her, and how he just wanted her to heal and be better. Like sometimes, his methods to getting her sober were a bit crazy, but I understand why he did it. I also loved the plot, like how intense and crazy it was. I hate that the plot twist changed Knox and Miles’ relationship because despite everything that Knox put Willow through, Miles still loved his brother and would have done anything for him. Like the plot twist showed how much Knox loved and cared for Miles, but I hate that it changed their relationship forever 😩. Also, it’s crazy I’m about to say this, but this book was a lot softer and nicer than the previous two books, even though there’s literal murder in this one 🫣🤣.
Anyways, I loved the sneak peeks of Jacob’s book 👏👏. I hope that one is going to be really good and a bit different since he’s in pro hockey and not college hockey.
Favorite quotes/scenes:
“I want everything. I want her tears and her anger and her heartbreak. I want her smile and laughter and joy.”
“She captivates me without even trying.”
“I can’t fall in love with you.”
“You will. You don’t have a choice. There’s never been a choice with us, wild girl. You’ll fall in love with me, and it’s going to be a hundred times better than any love you held for Knox. Because I deserve you and you deserve me. And when you do realize that you’re madly in love with me, you’re going to know in your bones that I won’t leave you. I haven’t left you, and I won’t ever. It’s you and me until the end of time.”
“I don’t want her thinking I don’t want her here. I do. But I also want to know how she got here, and who drove, and if she wore her seat belt. And if they drove the speed limit.”
“At least I learned something? What, that my boyfriend is a psychopath? You’re not my boyfriend.”
Oh, fuck. He’s grinning. He grabs my hips and tosses me over his shoulder, then breaks into a run.
“She’s my real girlfriend!”
“Miles Whiteshaw. I think I may love you more than anyone I’ve ever known.”
“You think?”
“I do.”
“I love you. I’ve wanted to marry you since the moment you dragged me down on the ice with you. You’re the best person in the world. You’re the only one I want to be with every moment of the day, for the rest of our lives. Will you make it official and marry me?”

these books are not good and i dont even think i like them? but i cant stop reading? and i am still, despite all odds, wildly entertained.
Dark, spicy read- it was fine. The story line was pretty convoluted, but it’s probably not the lure of a great plot that brings you to this series. Gave it a try after watching Larry Read’s reading vlog; this series is just not for me.
Okay genuinely my favourite of the series so far. I thought Steele was great but Miles Whiteshaw knocked it out of the park.
This one is probably the least dark, out of the first 3 anyway.
