I nearly gave it another star because it finishes so well but then I remembered the beginning.

Somehow this is my favourite and least favourite of the series so far.

We have Willow, an intelligent strong spirited alcoholic fmc who immediately gives in whenever it suits the author.

We have Miles the
murdering
(it's in the first few chapters) psychotic control freak who literally
rapes her
(also in the first few chapters).

I considered DNFing this if it didn't turn more consentual however now I think about it the poor girl probably just has Stockholm syndrome and terrible friends.

This book took me by surprise, Miles is so much more than I thought he’d be…. he also knows his way with

This book is quite intense and very spicy. While it is well-written, I found it hard to believe that Willow could truly overcome everything Miles had done. His obsession with her adds a dark layer to the story.

Miles has loved Willow for a long time, but he employs a range of troubling methods to try to make her love him and be his forever. Some of his actions stem from a desire to help her quit her destructive behavior, but in my opinion, he takes it too far.

Willow reluctantly allows him to act in these ways under the guise of love. She also has her own dark side that sometimes aligns with Miles's. Having experienced trauma in her past, she makes some destructive choices throughout the story that Miles wants to help her stop.

It’s important to note several trigger warnings in this book, including kinks like blood play, restraints, and somnophilia. Additionally, there are elements of dubious consent (DubCon), non-consent (NonCon), murder, and violence.

This man murders someone trying to break into her home - but as soon as he says 'I love you' she decides it's too much and leaves??
I'm not meant for a bully romance. I am all for enemies to lovers - but when we add non-consensual into it.. I just can't back you up here.

This was not for me.
