This was wonderful and touching. I don’t know if I would have stuck it out if I wasn’t reading it with other people though. It dragged at parts.

Such a lovely book. I can't find the words to explain how dearly I came to love this story. I will, without a doubt, come back to it over and over again.

I grew up reading this book and reading it again made me appreciate it in new ways. For one, I got all the adult nuances in ways I couldn’t as a kid. For another, I have lived more and can empathize in different ways with the characters. But now revisiting it feels a little bit like talking to myself at that age. I related a lot to Francie as a kid and, while I’ve changed a lot, it’s fun to look back on the character I felt so connected to.
