I usually prefer novels to short stories, but these were really fun. If you’re a fan of Sherlock Holmes short stories and haven’t tried Poirot, give these a try. I’m still convinced some of these are completely unsolvable without secret knowledge of what’s going on in Christie’s mind, but I love the way Poirot and Hastings interact with the world.

Poirot might as well be psychic at this point given the way he comes up with the solution to these cases. I think I prefer Christie in a longer format where we can concentrate on one case. These stories were somewhat amusing but very hard to appreciate.
