Hot sex only takes you so far. And yes, this book had copious amounts of it. What it didn't have? An original story. It was cliched, predictable and lacked any depth.
The "mystery" was evident immediately.
The heroine was stupid. (really? you think you have to go with some stranger because some freak has been sending you money? Nope)
There was never any real reason as to why the hero was so secretive and weird. In fact the back story on either character was minimal at best. Who were these people?
There were also several inconsistencies that should have been caught in editing. When a book is this hyped, good editing should be a given.

Bottom line:
4 star sex
1 star story

I wanted to give this book higher ratings because I think it had such crazy potential and yet... It fell flat. All it was was crazy sex that dominated a decent plot. Where was the deeper connection, the mental aspect? They fell in love and yet all I can get out of it was the sex was good, he thought she was beautiful, and she loved his huge ****. Where's the deeper connection? I think this book could have been amazing and instead was just overdone sex that got old pretty quick.

The blurb was intriguing to say the least !
It was a big disappoint !

It was a story about a billionaire who wanted to own a poor girl and do all kinda dirty things to her... sound familiar right ? Way too much similarities with a famous erotica series...

No plot really, lots of sex, the twist was quite laughable and not realistic (but hey it's a billionaire so...).

The only original thing was the name of the hero... Valentine Roth (and as I'm a Valentine myself I validate this name even for a guy)

Forgettable book. That sucks because I really expected this book because I love Jasinda WIlder !

3-star read, for me, because I liked it well enough, but I'm not likely to read it again.
"There were two words on the notes line: to me. Ohshit. Shitohshitohfuckohshit. You belong to me."

I get off on the whole "claiming" thing; possessive alphas are my go-to book heroes, so I was all over this. I was diggin' it for awhile. Dude was possessive enough, and he was bossy, but he wasn't alpha in a domineering, commandeering, dominant kind of way like I anticipated, so that was a little disappointing on a personal level.
"Know this: You are mine. You will always be mine. And I take care of what's mine. So if you do walk away...you will have no worries. Never again, no matter what."

At about the 68% mark, I struggled getting through to the finish, mostly I think because it seemed like a flip switched in the story all of a sudden from pretty-good-speed-of-things to what-the-shit-just-happened-super-morph-speed, which threw me off a little bit.

Full disclosure, the 68% mark was where I stopped reading before bed last night, and picked it up again this morning, so it could be a case of "it's not you, it's me," depending on which side of the bed I woke up on, how twisted my sheets were, and which side the cool side of the pillow was in relation to my head.
"Sometimes...I think sometimes there is no right thing. There's just... the best thing. The only thing."

I will say I read this book in a few days and i was wet the entire time 💞. The sex was just kinky enough and just romantic enough, though I have some questions about the use of words such as: core, globes, taught muscle et. cetera to describe body parts.

If you received multiple $10,000 in the mail from a mysterious, anonymous benefactor, would you cash them? Without hesitation, I'd do the same thing Kyrie did and damn the consequences (whatever they may be)! Next question, what would you do when your mysterious benefactor comes knocking to collect repayment? Yikes :/!!

The ramifications surrounding the big reveal was a bit unexpected but I wanted Kyrie to make the "right" choice. In my opinion, hhe conclusion was too neat and abrupt. Not really a cliffhanger but not quite certain if this is the first in the series. The bonus scene/chapter should not have been deleted.

its one of the books that makes you feel hot ( I swear i felt it too)
all the talkin' of Roth either sweet or naughty makes me want him. the sexy time was really great.

the problem. its lacking with the story itself.and from the beginning you can already guess why she receives money.

WOW THIS WAS GARBAGE
The setup was so cool and what was keeping me interested was the mystery of who this guy was and what his name was and WHY HES RICH
but then you find out that (spoiler) he’s rich because he owns a bunch of companies or some thing like that. I thought he was in the mafia or a gang or something
Anyway, I cannot handle it anymore and refuse to continue because EVERY PAGE IS JUST A SEX SCENE AND I DO NOT CARE
Yeah trash bag central
And I shall stop reading these types of books for the time being. It’s been a month ugh.
