Holy Guacamole!

I mean shit! I don't even know where to begin..
This book is HOTTT (3 t's hot)
Ok ok.. So Kyrie St Claire is a 26 year old uni student (I'm British) doing her masters. Her dad was murdered 7 years ago, her brother is in uni too & her mama is loco..
Valentine Roth (I love how his name rolls off my tongue) is a 36 year old millionaire? Billionaire? Heck who cares! My point is he's HOTT

1 thing I know for certain is, if I found $10,000 in my mail I'd be straight to the bank too! I'll deal with the consequences afterwards.. & that's exactly what happened to Miss St Claire. The only thing that bothered me was how quickly she just accepted the fact that she "belonged" to Mr Roth. Other than that I enjoyed this book soooooo much! It filled a void and my gosh the sex!!! I think the scenes have to be the best written 1's I've ever read. The anticipation and build up was so intense I felt like Roth was torturing me! Totally worth it in the end. I had started to put together his secret (after i got over the sex scenes) but I won't reveal what it is on here, so it didn't shock me as much but I wanted to see how Kyrie responded to it.. I feel like the ending was really abrupt, like I was just getting into the flow of things.. Book 2 maybe? Please?

I'm not giving 5 stars because I feel like the story didn't totally live up to the title. It was lacking something I think. Just can't get my finger on what it needs.

4 stars from me!

The plot was absolutely unbelievable and ridiculous, which I can usually forgive in smut since the plot isn't really the point. I did think the characters had some good chemistry, and I'm still in a reading slump that apparently only smut can fix, so into the sequel!

Actually 3.5 stars

Reading the reviews, a lot of people seem to really hate this book, and I kind of get why. Kyrie, the broke heroine cashes $120,000 in checks from a mysterious source that says "you belong to me." I get cashing the first check or two, but the whole thing? And rich hero Roth is kind of creepy and stalkery at the beginning. Yet something about this book kept me reading. I couldn't put it down.

It's the mystery that got me. Who is Kyrie's mysterious benefactor? Why did he give her money for a year and then "collect" her? Who is he? What does he want? What's his big secret? I had to keep reading until I found out the answer. If she's this good with mysterious secrets, maybe Wilder should write a mystery, or at least a romantic suspense.

I'm not going to spoil the ending, but the end is kind of a letdown, and I'm not reading further in the series because it seems like the HFN ending will be totally ruined in the next books. I think that Alpha is an interesting book, and I'd be willing to read more from this author.

I gave this book 3.5 stars.

I really liked the concept of the checks and the blindfold, but I just felt like something was missing. We don't find out until the story is 3/4 done of what the big secret is, so I feel like that made the story rushed at the end.

I really liked the originality of this story. Roth had it going on in the Alpha male department. Yum!

The story was interesting in the beginning, drawing me, making me need to know the connection. Once it was revealed, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. There could have been some much more depth, but I felt left short. It's another alpha male who's dominant all the time . . . which is boring to me, especially when the woman is a damsel in distress. This made me think of a modern day mix of Beauty and the Beast with a hint of Rapunzel to it. The back story had some merit, but the female started to bother me after a short bit into the story. There could have been some really good depth and growth for both characters - none for the female and a bit for the male (which was nice). There were a few points where I got uninterested in it - I'm not into the whole superficial mindset.

I hope there second book is more interesting or else I won't finish the series. :)

GREAT

I stopped around 50% then started again when I found out that there was a second book. I heard some mixed reviews about that one, and that made me hesitate to continue. But I did, and I'm glad I did. I liked how Alpha Roth was and how protective he was towards Kyrie. I liked how strong Kyrie's character was, and how responsibilities meant so much. Both Kyrie and Roth had interesting pasts. I liked how intense and descriptive the sex was sex, except for the use of the word boobs.

The plot was original, and unexpected. I didn't see that coming, what Roth revealed to Kyrie about their connected history.

I loved this book, but due to spoilers, I won't be reading Beta. This book can act as a standalone for the most part. I don't have any unanswered questions, and I am completely satisfied with the conclusion.
