Ouran High School Host Club 1 includes episodes 1, 2, and 3, and an extra episode called “Hunny's Bun Bun”.

Episode 1 introduces the characters: Haruhi Fujioka, Tamaki Suoh, Kyoya Ohtori, Hikaru Hitachiin, Kaoru Hitachiin, Mitsukuni (Hunny) Haninozuka, and Takashi (Mori) Morinozuka. Haruhi is a scholarship student at a school for the elite and privileged. She accidentally gets indebted to her school's Host Club and is told she can have her debt forgiven by working for the club and eventually joining the club (an all males club).

Episode 2 is the Host Club around Yule/Christmas. It focuses on a specific client and her fickle favorite switching of Host members and shows Tamaki’s growing infatuated with Haruhi.

Episode 3 was about a fan girl of the Host Clubs and specifically one member of the club. The club decides to embrace the abrasive fan’s changes.

“Hunny’s Bun Bun” was a short little extra for the readers. It has nothing to do with the story, mostly it exists to develop characters.

I enjoyed this book. It was something I never finished long ago and now I'm returning to finish it. I smiled several times while reading.

Read because the show has a special place in my heart but will not be reading the second

This Manga is definitely looking like a product of its time. It has a lot of the typical early 2000s anime tropes. Such as the way the twins act.  Once you get past that it's pretty good, solid premise and gives me Black Butler vibes. I would like to note that this is my first time  engaging with this media, as I didn't watch the anime.

Childhood CLASSIC that I’m finally reading the manga of

3.5 ⭐ I have watched the anime twice since High School, and recently I had been hearing that the manga is better so I wanted to give it a shot. It suffers what every first volume does with inconsistent art, but it was nice. Nothing really new or surprising when compared to the anime but I know that will change as I get further into the story.

I recently got the box set and since it had been a number of years since I read the first couple of volumes it was time for a reread.

Even after so many years, I still absolutely love and adore this series and these characters! I'm rewatching the anime at the same time and I do have to say that there are parts in the anime that I enjoyed more (simple things like the light bulbs in episode 1/chapter 1) but really the manga is just as good as the anime. I'm so excited to finally continue with this series, I can't wait to see what happens in the end!

If you are looking for a sweet manga which at the same time makes fun of itself, its character and its genre (and just general other fun stuff) look no further!

Ouran is one of my favorite anime, and I am so happy it's as delightful in manga form! Haruhi is a wonderful main character, and the host club is full of hilarious personalities. My favorite is probably Hunny, but I love them all. I'm delighted to see that Tamaki's sulks of shame are the same in the manga as in the anime. I love when Haruhi punctures their privileged lives with some realism. Such a perfect parody!
